# Audit Trail Chain Fix and Accepted Link Breaks
URL: https://docs.autociso.io/release-notes/2026-10-audit-chain-concurrent-append/
Description: Entries written at the same moment no longer break the Audit Trail hash chain, the verify API reports every break, and approved historic breaks show as Accepted.

## Audit Trail chain fix

**Plans:** Plans that include the Audit Trail (The Growth and above)
**Where:** **Audit Trail**; `GET /api/v1/audit-trail/verify`
**Versions:** backend 2.7.0

**Who benefits:** CTOs, IT managers and auditors who rely on the Audit Trail as evidence.

Entries written at the same moment can no longer fork the hash chain. Verification now reports every break, not just the first, and historic link breaks that were reviewed and approved show as **Accepted**.

**How to use it**

1. Click **Audit Trail** and look at the status icon next to each Seq #. A blue info icon means a historic link break that was accepted. Hover over it to read **Link break accepted (<reference>)**.
2. Call `GET /api/v1/audit-trail/verify` for the full result. New fields include `breaks`, `breakCount`, `acceptedBreaks`, `scanComplete` and `effectiveBoundarySeq`. See [Audit Trail Verify API](https://docs.autociso.io/api/reference/audit-trail/verify/).
3. Auditors: read [Audit Trail Integrity and Accepted Link Breaks](https://docs.autociso.io/product/admin/audit-trail-integrity/) for what to ask for as evidence.
